Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco South Valley Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel between 8:30 and 8:45 AM to begin your Cusco South Valley Tour. As we travel south, you’ll enjoy beautiful Andean landscapes, traditional villages, rolling farmland, and scenic mountain views.
Tipón – Inca Hydraulic Complex
Our first stop is Tipón, located about one hour from Cusco. This remarkable archaeological site, dedicated to the worship of water, is considered one of the finest examples of Inca hydraulic engineering.
During our 45-minute visit, you’ll explore its impressive agricultural terraces, ceremonial fountains, and perfectly preserved water channels while your guide explains the spiritual and agricultural significance of water in the Andean worldview.
Pikillacta – Wari Archaeological Site
Next, we’ll visit Pikillacta, one of the most important archaeological sites of the Wari Civilization, which flourished centuries before the Incas. Once a major administrative center, Pikillacta is known for its remarkable urban planning, straight streets, and stone buildings coated with stucco.
As you walk through this ancient city, your guide will explain the history and significance of one of Peru’s earliest planned urban settlements.
Visit duration: approximately 45–50 minutes.
Andahuaylillas – The Sistine Chapel of the Americas
Our journey continues to the charming colonial town of Andahuaylillas, home to the beautiful Church of San Pedro Apóstol. Often called the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas,” this 17th-century church is famous for its breathtaking murals, gold-leaf paintings, colorful coffered ceilings, ornate Baroque altars, and its unique five-language entrance inscription.
This visit offers a fascinating glimpse into the fusion of Spanish colonial and Andean artistic traditions.
Saylla – Local Gastronomy
Before returning to Cusco, we’ll make a short stop in Saylla, a town renowned for its delicious chicharrón (crispy fried pork) and traditional Peruvian cuisine.
You’ll have approximately 30 minutes of free time to relax, enjoy a snack, or sample one of the local specialties.
