Itinerary
Day 1: Humantay Lake Full-Day Tour (Group Tour) 13-Hour Tour & Hike
Your adventure begins early in the morning with hotel pickup at approximately 4:30 AM from accommodations located in Cusco’s Historic Center. Once the group is assembled, we’ll travel northwest of Cusco through picturesque Andean villages on our way to the district of Limatambo.
Our journey continues to the charming town of Mollepata, where you’ll enjoy a traditional breakfast to fuel up for the day’s adventure. (You’ll also return here later to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch after the hike.)
We then drive to Soraypampa, the starting point of our hike. Before setting off, your professional guide will provide a safety briefing covering the trail conditions, altitude, estimated hiking time, and helpful recommendations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Trekking poles will also be provided.
The hike takes approximately 2 hours and leads to the breathtaking Humantay Lake, nestled at the base of the majestic Humantay Glacier. Surrounded by the towering peaks of Humantay and Salkantay, you’ll have plenty of time to relax, take unforgettable photos, and soak in the spectacular scenery of one of Peru’s most beautiful natural attractions.
After enjoying this incredible destination, we’ll hike back down to Soraypampa, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Mollepata. There, you’ll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant before beginning the return journey.
Finally, we’ll drive back to the Imperial City of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 PM. The tour concludes with drop-off near Plaza de Armas, marking the end of an unforgettable day in the Peruvian Andes.
