Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour

Your adventure begins early in the morning with hotel pickup at approximately 4:30 AM from accommodations located in Cusco’s Historic Center. Once the group is assembled, we’ll travel south toward one of Peru’s most spectacular natural attractions—Rainbow Mountain.

After approximately 2 hours (78 km), we’ll make our first stop in the community of Paucarpata (Cusipata), where you’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast to fuel up for the day’s adventure.

We then continue by road for about 1 more hour until we reach the base camp, the starting point of our hike. Along the way, you’ll admire the impressive Hatun Ritti Glacier (4,825 m / 15,830 ft), encounter herds of alpacas, llamas, and wild vicuñas, and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Peruvian Andes.

The hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Upon reaching the summit, you’ll be rewarded with one of Peru’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Famous for its striking layers of vibrant mineral colors, Rainbow Mountain offers spectacular panoramic views and countless opportunities to capture unforgettable photographs while enjoying the unique beauty of this remarkable destination.

After spending time at the summit, we’ll hike back down to the base camp, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Cusipata. There, you’ll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch featuring traditional regional cuisine before beginning the return journey.

Finally, we’ll drive back to the Imperial City of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:30 PM. The tour concludes with drop-off near Plaza de Armas, marking the end of an unforgettable day exploring one of the most iconic landscapes in the Peruvian Andes.
